Trust in the Lord with all your heart

Proverbs 3:5, 6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.

Solomon here teaches us to trust God with all our heart.

The default mode of our mind is to lean on our own understanding, and to trust ourselves. This may often result in unwanted consequences.

We also do not often acknowledge God in our ways. Solomon teaches us to acknowledge God in all our ways including our health, finance, and relationship issues. God must be the centre of all that we do.

The result of a life that is characterised by acknowledgment of God is a life that is characterised by straight paths.

I am who I am

Psalm 106
1 Shine the "I am Who I am." Cast thanks to the "I am Who I am" for He is good, and his favour is everlasting.
2. Who can speak of the power of the "I am Who I am"? or who can hear all His fame?

My soul yearns for you

Isaiah 26:9
My soul yearns for you in the night; my spirit within me earnestly seeks you.
For when your judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.

What is your soul's desire? What do you yearn for? What does your spirit seek?

These are the questions I ask myself. Do I desire a future spouse, money, fame, respect from others, or health?

Many of these things are good things and rightly so, it is ok to desire them but if they become ultimate things, then we miss the mark, i.e. they become idols.

Isaiah says in this verse, he yearns for God in the night, and his spirit within him earnestly seeks God. How about you? And why does Isaiah yearn for God?

Because then God's judgments will be in the earth, and the people in the world will learn righteousness as the second half of the verse indicates.
